U-Turn, a business of Harbor House Ministries opened in 2002 and closed three years later due to high overhead costs. U-Turn was a high-end used clothing store in the Rockridge District of Oakland that provided on-the-job training for Harbor House’s teenage interns while reselling name- and designer-brand clothing to the public.

For five years Many Hands, Many Lands Cleaning Company offered thorough, dependable service while providing good jobs in a supportive work environment through Harbor House Ministries. In 2004, Harbor House turned over the business to Taffe Jones, former manager of MHML. We are grateful to all of our supporters and customers who made this business—and many jobs—possible.

Many Hands, Many Lands Store and Gallery was a business venture of Harbor House located on Grand Avenue in Oakland during the early 1990’s. This was an opportunity to provide a venue for sales and micro-business training for handcraft artisans from various ethnic backgrounds. Many Hands, Many Lands was turned over to Lari Ann Davis in which she created and showcased her African garments, dolls, and other designs.
