2011 Summer Program
The Harbor House Summer Youth Program is in full swing and we are all having a blast! Every day, over 70 children come to enjoy a fun and educational program. This year, we have a very diverse group, with 7 African (recently immigrated), 7 African-American, 7 Chinese, 19 Latino, 10 Vietnamese, 12 Mixed Race/Other Race, and 15 Burmese children (joining us for the first time!). It's been great seeing all of the kids make new friends. We've gone on a field trip to the park as well as to watch Cars 2, with field trips to Fairyland, CalTrans, and Ardenwood Farm lined up. Mr. Brooks has brought his group of "student teachers" to teach us how to make ice cream. We've also made our own tie-dye shirts, seen all kinds of interesting animals up close, and exercised our athletic and artistic abilities! Thanks to all the staff, interns, and volunteers who make it a great experience for us all. See pictures!
