Who We Are

Welcome! Harbor House is a multi-ethnic Christian non-profit organization located in the diverse and vibrant San Antonio community of Oakland. For 38 years and counting we have worked with our community to create opportunities for individuals and families to become self-sufficient.

Started in 1972, Harbor House provides programs in education, economic development and spiritual development for youth and adults. Over 100,000 people have entered Harbor House’s doors in its thirty-eight years of operation participating in the programs Harbor House offers.

We work through God’s grace and mercy to create positive, systemic change for individuals and our community.

Harbor House envisions a day when the San Antonio community is a neighborhood transformed by Christ, where individuals and families are healthy in mind, body, and spirit, justice reigns, and we all reach God’s purposes in our lives.

Volunteer Opportunities

Every volunteer who comes to share their love at Harbor House becomes a blessing to both participants and staff, regardless of their skills or abilities. Volunteers can be plugged in as tutors and mentors for our youth, and those volunteers who wish to share their gifts and passions with us often end up developing new programs to serve youth in our community.

Financial Support

Programs at Harbor House are primarily funded by churches, foundations, and individuals who desire to be a part of serving those in need and seeing the kingdom of God advance in the lives of young people in Oakland. Those with financial means are encouraged to support Harbor House through grants and donations, which enable the continued implementation and growth of our programs in the community.
